DEAR STACY: Could you tell me what happened to Timmy Hovey who was in movies such as "The Toy Tiger" in the '50s, and what other movies he appeared in? — Bruce L., Woodbridge, Va.
DEAR BRUCE: Hovey's successful career as a child actor included TV work on such shows as "Lux Video Theatre" and "Cimarron City," as well as movies including Jock Mahoney's "Slim Carter" (1957), Maureen O'Hara's "Everything But the Truth (1956), and Charlton Heston's "The Private War of Major Benson (1955). In the '60s, he hooked up with The Grateful Dead, working as an engineer and road manager for the band. Hovey died at age 44 in 1989, of a drug overdose. Some reports called it a suicide.
DEAR STACY: I miss Lauren Graham on television. Any chance of her returning with another series? — C.L., Santa Monica, Calif.
DEAR C.L.: Yes. She is expected to star in "The Bridget Show," now in its pilot phase, for ABC. The half hour comedy series has the former "Gilmore Girls" star as a popular talk show host/relationships expert whose career sank like a stone after she went off with the man of her dreams only to be dumped a few years later — and who is trying to make a comeback. Jeffrey Tambor co-stars and Barry Sonnenfeld ("Pushing Daisies," "Men in Black") directs the pilot.
DEAR STACY: What has become of John M. Jackson of "Jag"? — Dave A., Brooklyn, N.Y.
DEAR DAVE: He's continued to act, with a list of series guest credits including "Knight Rider," "Grey's Anatomy," and six episodes of "Bones" in the 2005-06 season. He and his wife Jana have two children, daughter Katherine and son Conor — who plays first base for the Arizona Diamondbacks.
DEAR STACY: Help, please! There is a commercial with very sexy and mysterious music in it that I thought was going to be about a spy show. But it turned out to be about Finish dishwashing detergent. Can you give me the name of this music and tell whether it's available? I can't get it off my mind. — Greg H., Kearny, N.J.
DEAR GREG: You're referring to Gotan Project's scintillating "Epoca," from the group's album, "La Revancha Del Tango." It is available via Amazon.com and other Internet outlets, and there's a video on YouTube.
